Haffner has given more than 500 keynote addresses and more than 500 parenting talks in communities across the U.S. She has led workshops for sexuality and religious professionals around the world and has preached in more than 30 congregations. She has been a visiting professor at Yale Divinity School, the Pacific School of Religion, Union Theological Seminary, and Meadville-Lombard. Rev. Unitarian Universalist Association
Rev. Debra’s latest project for the UUA is the development of three online courses for UU clergy and clergy candidates. The course “Clergy Sexual Misconduct Prevention” is now live, and two other courses on sexuality issues are under development.
U.S. Coast Guard
Rev. Debra consulted with the highest level of personnel at the U.S. Coast Guard on how to address sexual abuse prevention by promoting the sexual health of its troops. This included creating a framework for sexual health for the service, meeting with the office of the chief medical officer, and offering a two hour in person training.
Beloved Yoga
Rev. Debra was hired to create training for the owners of this yoga studio to assure that their studios were free of sexual harassment and that they were welcoming to people of all genders. She served as an expert reviewer of their personnel handbook and teaching guide.
Congregations across the U.S.
Rev. Debra has worked with diverse congregations around the United States on how to create policies to assure that the congregation is free from sexual abuse, harassment, and professional misconduct. She has also assisted dozens of congregations as they have discovered that a member or staff person has been accused or has a history of sexual misconduct.
